Yumist Is Rumoured To Be Looking To Raise $2 Million

After having shut down ins Bangalore operations in May, daily meal service Yumist is rumoured to be in talks with investors to raise $2 million. According to several reports, Yumist will use this funding to expand its operations in the Delhi-NCR region.

What Yumist Does

Founded in November 2014 by Alok Jain and Abhimanyu Maheshwari, Yumist prepares and delivers home-style meals including dishes like Pindi Chana, Ghar Wali Aloo Sabjee, Lasooni Daland Chicken Kalimirch at pocket friendly prices.

Yumist is backed by Ronnie Screwvala’s Unilazer Ventures and Rehan Yar Khan’s Orios Venture Partners; in 2015, the company raised $2 million in a funding round lead by Unilazer Ventures.

Looking To Expand

In May, Yumist shut down its Bangalore operations. However, it appears that it is once again looking to expand – two sources who wanted to remain unnamed told LiveMint that the company is in talks with venture capital investors to raise funding.

“They are in the market and are talking to various investors, looking to raise at least $2 million. The idea is to significantly scale up their operations in Delhi-NCR (national capital region),” said one of the sources.
However, Yumist has not made an official comment about the rumours.
