On 17th November 2017, history repeated itself when an Indian was once again crowned the Miss World after 17 years (before this, Priyanka Chopra won the title in 2000). And the woman who steered this feat was 20-year-old Manushi Chhillar.
A medical student hailing from a family of doctors, Chhillar bagged the Miss India in June this year. The Miss India crown was nothing short of the Sonepat girl, who following the win at the beauty pageant, set out on a sincere and tough journey to the Miss World title.
The Miss World Diet
With the help of celebrity nutritionist Nmami Agarwal, Manushi tweaked her diet and stepped up her fitness regime. Agarwal put her through a high protein diet with a meal plan that was wholesome, healthy and balanced and did not require the pageant winner to starve. Here’s a quick look at Chhillar’s diet plan.
Breakfast – cereal, fresh fruits, and yogurt
Lunch – a bowl of rice or 1-2 chapatis, a vegetable dish, salad, and raita
Evening Snack – fruit smoothie with cucumber and carrot sticks
Dinner – quinoa pulav, tofu salad and soup
In addition to this wholesome diet, Chhillar made it a point to stay hydrated at all times, drinking up to 3 litres of water a day and trained 4 to 5 times a week. Her workout included squats, free running, and yoga.
Manushi took to social media to share three useful tips for staying healthy and fit. Take a look at the wise words by Miss World 2017.
- Don’t skip breakfast: Skipping breakfast increases hunger pangs by the end of the day.
- Eat regular meals and use smaller plates: Eating regular meals helps to reduce the temptation to snack on food that is high in fat and sugar.
- Avoid sugar, especially refined sugar.
That said, Chhillar did indulge in her share of gelato. The beauty queen shared a video of herself enjoying some Turkish ice cream in Sanya, where the Miss World pageant was hosted.
