Broth is a liquid that is made when meat or vegetables are cooked in water. In short, it is flavoured cooking liquid that is drained once you cook vegetables, fish or meat. Stock, on the other hand, is made using bones. The bones are simmered in the water for a long time to extract the gelatin and flavour. If you’ve ever cooked bones, you’ll see that it’s thicker and that’s because of the gelatin. If you want to get richer and darker stock, you can roast the bones before you cook it.
