We recently visited the Academy of Pastry Arts in Gurgaon for a walk through and demo of the classes which was followed by a tasting session. It was a delight to see the budding chefs in action who are mentored by India’s as well as Asia’s award-winning chefs. We started our tour with the Sugar Art Class where the students were making abstract pieces out of pure sugar. Next we visited the Modern French Pastry class where the students were learning how to make a very unique cheesecake. We also visited the Chocolate class, their assessment room and the commercial section where the students create the pastries for Enchante Patisserie (a venture of the academy itself!). We were highly impressed to see such international standards being followed here at the academy.
Academy of Pastry Arts is an esteemed group of Professional Culinary & Pastry Schools with Pan- Asia presence in Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Bangalore. Their journey started in 2010 with the flagship school in Malaysia and now, the company is growing exponentially with plans to be in Dubai and Indonesia soon.
The academy uses cutting edge technology, mixed with ingenious techniques, specifically designed to teach the art, science and techniques of creating good food and methods needed to excel in the food industry. Alongside that, the batch size is deliberately kept small so that one-on-one attention can be given to the students. Their visiting faculty consists of the largest number of Master Chefs spanning the level of MOF, World Champions, Master Chocolatiers and Master Bakers and a total of over 75 such classes were conducted across our centres in 2017.
