Vikas Khanna Takes ‘Buried Seeds’ To Venice Film Festival

Chef and restaurateur Vikas Khanna recently launched the trailer of his docu-drama, Buried Seeds, at the 71st Cannes Film Festival. The Michelin-starred chef will now share the story of his journey at the coveted 74th Venice Film Festival, where Buried has been selected for a special preview screening on Wednesday.

Directed by celebrated Russian director Andrei Severny, Buried Seeds captures the chef’s journey from Amritsar to America. “With his pure craft, visual art and compelling storytelling, he (Severny) has created a masterpiece called Buried Seeds, Khanna said during an interview.

The film will be screened at Giornate degli Autori, which is an independent event that is organized alongside the Venice Film Festival similar to Cannes Film Festival’s Directors Fortnight. The event is aimed at shining the spotlight on top-notch cinema that boasts of innovation, research, originality and independence.

Khanna will follow up the screening with a special dinner spread that will feature seventy handpicked dishes from his home country to commemorate 70 years of India’s independence. The chef had recently also shared his thoughts via social media on the milestone date earlier last month when he represented India at the United Nations.
