Use Food To Make Your Dog’s Fur Thicker And More Glossy

on

Is Fido down in the dumps because he’s been watching way too many advertisements on TV featuring dog models with thick, glossy, bouncy fur? Comfort him by telling him that you’re sure the ads have been photo shopped and the dogs’ silky fur is actually an illusion. If that didn’t work, start giving him some of these foods that will give him naturally rich, glossy fur in a few weeks.

Tuna, Sardines and Salmon

Fish

These fish are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids that work to strengthen and nourish hair and fur. Make sure there are no bones in the fish you’re giving him.

Vegetable oil

OIl

Incorporate a teaspoon of sunflower, flaxseed, olive, coconut or safflower oil in your dog’s meal two to three times a week. Make sure you mix it well and stick to only a teaspoon.

Eggs

Egg

Eggs contain both Omega-3 fatty acids and Omega-6 acids. While Omega-3 helps combat itching, dandruff and skin irritations, Omega-6 nourishes skin which will lead to healthier fur. Remember to cook the eggs well before mixing them into your dog’s food.

You can also try a few home remedies using ingredients that we’re sure you have in your kitchen:

Oatmeal Bath

Oatmeal

Grind a few cups of oatmeal in a blender until it becomes a powder. Then, mix this powder into a bucket of warm water, pour this water into a tub and place your dog into the tub for five to ten minutes. Alternatively, you can pour mugfuls of the water over your dog, massaging it into his coat and eventually rinsing it off.

Corn Starch Bath

Cornstarch

Mix together a few tablespoons of baking soda and corn-starch in a little water and massage your dog’s coat with it. Rinse it off and you’ll notice your dog itching and worrying his skin less!
