Ulundhu Kali, a.k.a., urad dal halwa is a popular South Indian dessert rich in nutrients and is considered very healthy. The recipe scores high on ease in making and, of course, taste. Instructions
  1. Take rice, urad dal, and fenugreek seeds in a blender and powder it finely. Set aside.
  2. Take the palm sugar and water in a sauce pan and heat it till sugar melts.
  3. Strain it and add it to a heavy bottom pan or wok.
  4. Bring to a boil. Once it boils, sprinkle the powder slowly and mix well so no lumps are formed.
  5. Cook on a low heat, while stirring continuously till it thickens.
  6. Add in oil slowly and mix well.
  7. Once it starts to leave the sides, remove it and set aside to cool down a bit.
  8. Serve.
Recipe Notes

You can also serve the halwa in the form of round shaped balls or ladoos.
