TravelKhana, the Delhi based food delivery company for train passengers, is all set to make train journeys much better, after announcing that they have raised $1 million from Mumbai based seed fund Astarc Ventures
TravelKhana was founded in 2012 by Pushpinder Singh as a venture to provide travellers with an alternative to boring old train food while they travel. The company had raised $2 million in an angel funding round and is now gearing up for a Series A round where they hope to secure $10 million.
The company will use the present funds to expand their reach from 150 to 400 stations. Currently, they operate in over 500 cities and have a customer base of over 9 lakhs. They offer a range of cuisines like North Indian, South Indian, Chinese, Mughlai, Hyderabadi, Continental and Italian.
TravelKhana is constantly rising in popularity because it provides a healthier, more interesting alternative to old and stale train meals.
