The Trailer For Anthony Bourdain’s Food Waste Documentary Is Here

on

After ticking cookbooks and comic series off his bucket list, the next project on Anthony Bourdain’s list is movie-making. The food expert and TV host will release Wasted!: The Story of Food Waste, a 90-minute documentary on food waste, on 13th October.

Food waste is a piling problem around the globe and to shine the spotlight on the same, the Parts Unknown host has roped in eminent personalities like Dan Barber, Mario Batali, Massimo Bottura, Sean Brock, and Danny Bowien along with Bourdain himself to speak on the issue.

“I’m not an activist, but the intent of this film aligns with something that’s very much personal,” Bourdain said in a statement. “I came up in kitchen regimes where you live by an absolute rule of using everything and wasting nothing, and of course, as a traveler, I see again and again how circumstances force people to cook incredibly well with the often very little food available to them.

The trailer gives us a peek into the film, which highlights solutions to reduce food waste. For instance, he suggests alternative use of ingredients that are otherwise considered waste.

“One film isn’t going to cure all of society’s ills,” Bourdain says. “But if a few people start thinking about what they’re eating for dinner in a different way or think twice about throwing out what is often the best stuff, it’s a good day.”

Produced by Zero Point Zero, – the company behind Bourdain’s Parts Unknown – the documentary will be released in theatres and video-on-demand. Check out the trailer below.
