There was a time when Delhiites referred to Dilshad Garden as the North-East but the present times have seen the establishment of authentic North-Eastern restaurants here. Initially, the only place that served this cuisine was the Nagaland House where you could indulge in some delicious pork curry. With time, restaurants like the Dzukou (Hauz Khas), Rosang (Safdarjung), Nagaland’s Kitchen (Green Park) and North East Flavours (Green Park) emerged.
The menu in these restaurants includes dishes from Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Assam, Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh. Even though each state has a unique palate, what makes this cuisine a favourite of many foodies is the delicious light food that is served here!
Everyone’s favourite dish is usually the different pork preparations that this cuisine offers- Smoked Pork, Pork with Bamboo Shoots, Smoked Pork with fermented Soya Bean, Pork with Mustard Greens and the list goes on!
