“The joy that food gives you, it kind of gives my soul a hug” Ranbir Kapoor On His Love For Food

We all have our favourite stars that we look up to for a bunch of things we do. From picking out clothes to food, we fall back on how our beloved celeb idol looks and what they eat. But here’s a fun fact – not all actors were born ripped and not all take a liking to eating lean greens. At least Ranbir Kapoor doesn’t.

In a recent interview for a leading daily, Bollywood actor Kapoor, who is currently promoting cola label, Pepsi, and its new campaign, ‘Kyun Sookhe Sookhe Hi’, revealed his immense love for food and his sheer dislike for the lack of it. The actor, who was most recently seen in Anurag Kashyap’s Jagga Jasoos, admits that given his inherent Punjabi genes that have seasoned him to give the utmost importance to gastronomy, it is immensely difficult for him to maintain a safe distance from food and keep up with a glutton-free lifestyle.

“I am a foodie and my family has a history of food. It’s hard for me to sacrifice that aspect of food because of the profession that I am in. The joy that food gives you, it kind of gives my soul a hug,” Ranbir says. Now, is there a better way to put forth how great food makes one feel? We can relate a hundred percent.

So, does he not diet? Of course he does, but not without a lot of perseverance and some irritable days. “When I have to diet and when I am not allowed to cheat, that’s when I become very irritable. And I am not a nice person to talk to or be friends with,” the 35-year-old Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani star adds. What can we say, except we feel you Ranbir, we totally do! We all have had our share of ‘hangry’ moments (Lilly Singh will agree too), and it’s good to know that Kapoor is on our little ‘hangry’ boat as well!
