The Good Life Company (TGL Co.) Now Brews Luxury Coffees in India

After having successfully launched luxury teas in the Indian market, TGL Co. now ventures into the luxury coffee segment.

Excited about the company’s entry into a new segment, Mr Shariq Ashraf, Co-founder, TGL Co. says, “We have been closely studying the consumer market in India and have realised that there is an evolving consumer preference for higher quality, fresher, premium coffees. This prompted us to conduct extensive R&D that resulted in us sourcing world class coffees from the finest estates around the world.”

Adding further, Mr. Bhuman Dani, co-founder, TGL Co. said, “Our ultimate aim is to create a 100-crore business in the luxury indulgences category. We are leveraging our existing sales channels (ones we use for our teas) to promote our coffees aggressively and create an awareness for such high-quality brews”.

TGL Co.; an Indian start-up has expanded rapidly in the B2B segment with its teas now available at more than 160 hotels, restaurants and cafes across 9 cities including popular properties such as Taj Hotels, HYATT Regency, Westin, SOFITEL, The Lalit, Yauatcha, Hakkasan, Smoke House Deli, Salt Water Cafe, Poetry by Love and Cheesecake, Theobroma, La Folie, Deliciae, Cafe Basilico, Madras Diaries, Grandmama’s Cafe, KOKO, Fatty Bao and many more. After having more than 300 recipes of tea blends developed in its R&D centre, they have now forayed into luxury coffees too, which have been classified into 4 collections – International, Indian, Flavoured and Instant Coffees.

They will also be launching their international website for teas and coffees soon and will begin selling on Amazon Launchpad EU and UK shortly thereafter. They are currently available at Godrej Natures Basket stores across Mumbai and Bengaluru – Bandra, Powai, Oberoi Mall, Worli, Churchgate, Warden Road, Prabhadevi and yet to be launched Juhu store in Mumbai, while Gear School Road (GSR), Whitefield, Indiranagar and Sadashivnagar in Bengaluru.

The three crucial differentiators that make them unique are:

  1. Sourced from the best plantations globally: Some of the best coffee in the world grows at high altitudes, above 2000 feet, under rich tree shades, and located between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn. These are the kinds of coffee that TGL sources for its tightly curated collection. The range includes only the highest quality 100% Arabica beans from the best placed coffee plantations the world over, including Ethiopian Yirgachaffe, Colombian Excelso, El Salvador Santa Cristina, Peruvian Organic Coffee, Brazilian Santos and coffee beans from award winning plantations in India.
  2. Expertly Roasted Beans: Most coffees you pick up on the shelf are usually quite stale, and have been roasted months ago. Coffee needs to be enjoyed fresh. All of TGL’s Indian blends are freshly roasted every two weeks – in micro-roasting small batches to ensure the perfect roast is done for each type of coffee bean to bring out the best flavor profile.
  3. Freshly Ground and Customised: Pre ground coffee rarely produces a cup that can match the complexity of the flavours and aromas that seep from a freshly ground lot. This is because from the moment the beans are ground, they are exposed to air and start getting oxidized and losing their complexity and freshness.
