Chili’s

Been a fan of Chili's for a long time and was surprised to find it in Chennai.Visited them with a bit of skepticism in my mind after my experience with Krispy Kreme here vs there and I was wrong, gladly. We ordered Onion Rings, Chili with bread & a chicken/bacon Taco in all and all of them lived up to my memory of having had them there and tasted as good as they can and should. The service was courteous while the ambience was perfect.A good dining experience. Where: 49 & 50 L, Express Avenue Mall, White's Road, Royapettah, Chennai. When: 12 Noon to 11 PM. Cost: INR 1,700 for two people. Contact: 044 30853672

Mexicano Griller

Mexicano Griller is an amazing place to dine in with your friends and family. The food is simply superb. The best part here is the buffet in which you can have any dish from the a-la-carte menu. The chicken pizza is by far the best I have had in a long time. The tacos and enchiladas were marvellous and so was the hospitality of this place. The place has got a decent ambiance and is a must for all the gourmands out there. Where: 48, Sterling Avenue, Near Loyola College, Nungambakkam, Chennai. When: 7 AM to 10 AM, 11 AM to 11 PM. Cost: INR 800 for two people. Contact: 044 30853825

New Yorker

Good veg restaurant containing multiple cuisines on their menu.. the streets are quite busy but valet parking was provided.Service was prompt and dishes were nice and good.. had a spicy soup which had lots of pepper at end which was super hot..? cheese balls were ok.. they serve awesome pizzas which were nicely hot and cheese melting softly.. the chilly paneer sizzler was amazing and one cannot ask for more..?? desserts were ok...the place is slightly pricey like many other veg restaurants these days.. except for that it was a great dining. Where: 21/10, 1st Floor, 3rd Street, Wallace Garden, Khadar Nawaz Khan Road, Nungambakkam, Chennai. When: 12 Noon to 3 PM, 7 PM to 11 PM. Cost: INR 1,200 for two people. Contact: 044 42068989

Mamagoto

One of the best Asian restaurants in town. The food is fantastic and the ambience gives a sense of fun. Thr service is good and the people are friendly, giving you suggestions and helping you out in deciding. The calamari rings are one of the best in town. Where: Shop 9, Oyster Building, Khader Nawaz Khan Road, Nungambakkam, Chennai. When: 12 Noon to 11 PM. Cost: INR 1,500 for two people. Contact: 044 33999610.

Cream Centre

This is the ultimate vegetarian destination! Ambience is good and the place is crowded, like always. For the starters, we took the All In One which is a combo of American Corn Cheese Balls, Veg Wontons, French Fries and Onion Rings. This time we tried the Enchiladas, a corn based and a kidney bean based. The taste was great except that it was over saucy. We also ordered the Penne Arabbiatta Double Baked and the flavors were spot on. For the drinks, I chose the Peach Iced Tea and it was really refreshing. Where: 55, 2nd Main Road, Between Kaliappa Hospital and Park Sheraton, RA Puram, Chennai. When: 11 AM to 3 PM, 7 PM to 11 PM. Cost: INR 1,600 for two people. Contact: 044 30853656

Spoonbill

Quite an interesting place, with their unique theme of "streetfood from around the world". So many different cuisines, all under one roof, be it indian, arabic, chineese, english, american, mexican and the list just goes on. So many different varieties of food to choose from. The menu booklet by itself is soo interesting!! The food is quite great and the ambience is average. They have a self-service system here and hence no service charges or extra tax on the food. Where: 239/107, TTK Road, Alwarpet, Chennai. When: 11 AM to 11 PM. Cost: INR 800 for two people. Contact: 044 42064442

Kobe Sizzlers

Great variety of sizzlers. We tried the Vegetable Sizzler with Garlic Sauce. Vegetable cutlets, fried rice smothered with that tangy garlic sauce was bang on! Ambiance is good and the staff are great. One sizzler is enough for two people and the quantity given for the price is apt. Where: 1st Floor, Phoenix Market City, Velachery Main Road, Velachery, Chennai. When: 11 AM to 11 PM. Cost: INR 1,100 for two people. Contact: 044 30853554

Little Italy

The usual fine, cozy and nice little italy adjectives account here as well.. went for a team lunch and were seated in a separate area in the first floor where the buffet was served.. the food was awesome as usual and the best dish was the pita bread with hummus.. pity it got over too soon before multiple serve.. their thin crust pizza was delicious as well.. we got risotto as an added request which was great..dessert spread can be improved as it seems monotonous..overall experience was happy-with-lunch and post lunch everyone of us had difficulty in keeping ourselves awake from the cheesy drowsiness. Where: E-50, 17th Cross Street, Near Spencers Daily, Besant Nagar, Chennai. When: 11:30 AM to 3 PM, 6:30 PM to 11 PM. Cost: INR 1,300 for two people. Contact: 044 30853624

Hola

Hola is a beautifully done up rooftop cafe, known for is great food and sea views, best reserved for a special night out! Since we were all in the mood to try something chilled and cooling to beat the heat, we opted for their unique Curry Leaf Mojito. It looked so pretty with its beautiful hues and the crushed ice definitely hit the right spot! We glugged this down quite quickly, including all those who suffered from tooth sensitivity who enjoyed the chilled drink with equal ease as we all did, without facing any pain at all. After indulging in some interesting ice breaking conversations, we bid adieu to Hola and moved on to the next place.Have had a plan to visit the place for a lovely seaside meal, would be coming back to try some food here. Where: 6/1, 2nd Floor, 4th Main Road, Besant Nagar, Chennai. When: 11 AM to 11 PM. Cost: INR 1,200 for two people. Contact: 044 45550260
