Ace basketball player Steph Curry’s basketball shoes have been receiving a lot of flak, meme attack and backlash. Sports label Under Armour unveiled the NBA star’s new shoes called the ‘Chef’. Ironically enough, the ‘Curry 2 Low Chef’ has been receiving one burn after the other almost instantly after its unveiling on Facebook.
The brilliant white pair of low tops made its first appearance in a photoshoot inspired by its name; sitting atop a wooden table and surrounded by utensils, veggies and kitchen essentials. Alas, sports fans and sneaker lovers weren’t too impressed and the ‘Chef’ went on to garner a bulk of social media attention. And criticism.
But Curry was not one to back off. The Warrior stepped it up and fired back at critics by wearing the shoes to practice.

On a personal level, the sneakers are pretty, fashionable and everything vanilla but I don’t understand why a shoe was christened ‘Chef’. It it’s because the pair white like a chef’s jacket then it’s inspiring really. ‘Cause my flip flops are red and it’s time I started calling them ‘Fire Truck’.
