Yakult Light is a product by Yakult Honsha and Danone which was unveiled by the celebrity Shilpa Shetty Kundra in Mumbai on Thursday. According to a press release by Yakult Danone India the fitness icon endorsed and even distributed the new product during a press conference in the city.
Yakult Light In India
The product, Yakult Light is a probiotic drink which contains the same probiotic, Lactobacillus casei strain Shirota (LcS) which is present in the same amount (6.5 billion) as the original Yakult. The press release further says that Yakult Light contains a reduced amount of sugar and is also packed with the goodness of Vitamin D and E.
Shedding light on the new product Dr. Neerja Hajela, the General Manager – Science and Regulatory Affairs, Yakult Danone India Pvt. Ltd said, “Yakult Light with reduced sugar contains the same number of the probiotic LcS as the original Yakult and therefore imparts the same benefit of improved digestion and better immunity. The added benefit of Vitamin D in Yakult Light helps in absorption of Calcium thereby improving and maintaining bone health, Vitamin E is an antioxidant which helps to protect the body from the harmful effects of free radicals and therefore slows the process of aging. Yakult Light therefore aims to provide a broad spectrum of health benefits to all age groups. We hope it will offer increased choice to consumers and so motivate them to make it a part of their daily diet.”
