Savour Sri Lankan Delicacies In Mumbai At The Newly Opened Hoppumm

on

Inspired by the popular cuisine of Sri Lanka, the restaurant named Hoppumm has been established in Mumbai and it claims to feed us with an array of delicacies from the country. The newbie in Bandra has opened for business and is owned by siblings Sahil & Jai Wadhwa along with co-partner and Chef Lakshit Shetty. When the hoppers received much love at various pop-ups, the next step for the partners was opening up the restaurant there’s a lot to look forward to.

Hoppers And More

While the architecture at Hoppumm boasts of rustic cane and wood furniture, the decor too has a humongous banana leaf along with  black-and-white marble kadappa floor speaking volumes of the country so familiar to us. Coming to the food aspect of it, there is so much more than just hoppers and one can chow down on delicacies like  Ceylon Roasted Chicken, Chicken Stew, Mutton Pepper Fry, Prawn Moilee and Egg. There are plenty of vegetarian dishes as well that include a Veg Stew, Paneer Moju and Ceylon Mushroom. Pair the gravies with a piping hot hopper, string hopper, neer dosa, paratha or kottu roti.

While there are plenty of wholesome meals at Hoppumm, there are also light snacks to savour like Sri Lankan Mutton Roll, Chicken Pepper Fry and Paneer 65. Finish off your feast with a sweet treat called Vathalappam which is a variant of coconut custard pudding. You can also order Coconut Milk Appams which boast of being awfully soft and perfect to end your meal on a sweet note. So head to Bandra soon to relish this elaborate Sri Lankan feast soon!
