In a state like Tamil Nadu where culture plays a lead inspite of extensive westernisation, Pongal is the one festival that has been preserved since time immemorial. This place has been an abode for vegetarian cuisine for quite a long time and the pongal here is something you need to try this year if you haven’t.

A legendary vegetarian restaurant in the city which is open all the way from dawn till 2 AM and the pongal is delicious in this house. Don’t forget to reserve your table as this place is known for the crowd.

This is a world famous franchise known for its delicious array of vegetarian dishes and you need not compromise on getting your pongal under this house except that the prices are a tad bit on the higher note. There are uncountable branches in the city but you can visit the Anna nagar branch for good ambience and service.

This place is where you will get the most delicious and mouth watering south Indian dishes where idlis are pillows and dosas are satin sheets and the pongal is a warm bed of soft cotton. Mark this as a place you need to visit before you meet the gods. It is considered a sin to not try out the sweet pongal in this heavenly abode. MUST VISIT. Although there are many branches, the kilpauk branch offers you good ambience and very good service. This place is known for its long queues, so its a good way to train your tolerance level.

A friendly restaurant where you can try out some delicious pongal on this auspicious day.

One of the best joints in the city for delicious south indian food with affordable prices. Celebrating the day here with some mouth watering pongal is an ideal choice.

Extremely neat ambience, good crowd and delicious pongal. Although this place is for the idlis and the dosas, you won’t regret having the pongal here. Beware of prices.
