Celebrating Coastal Delights

The coastal food from Thailand is surely going be an experience for us Mumbai-kars. Being a fan of seafood being so close to the sea, this is going to be an adventure for all our taste buds. Nara has curated many a dishes for this festival like Bombay Duck with Mango Salad (Yam Pla Tord) a mix of crispy Bombay duck marinated with Thai herbs served with a mango salad; Salt and Pepper Squid Rings (Pla Mok Tord Grob) crispy squid rings marinated with black pepper and chilli garlic, served with chilli dip; Stir Fry Prawns with wild coriander (Phad Goong Pakchi Parang) prawns stir fried in two sauces and cooked to perfection, Grilled Mackerel with Black Pepper Sauce (Pla Yang Pik Thai Dom) mackerel marinated and grilled with Chef’s special sauce served with black pepper sauce on the side; don’t miss the Prawns Satay (Goong Satay) barbecued turmeric and coconut marinated prawns with peanut sauce and cucumber relish.

The fish, John Dory is also given quite an importance in the menu of the festival at Nara. One can pick from John Dory Satay (Pla Satay) barbecued turmeric and coconut marinated John Dory with a peanut sauce and cucumber relish or the John Dory Wrapped in Banana Leaf (Hor Mock Pla) or John Dory in Chilli Lime Sauce (Pla Neung Ma Nao). Or you can also go for the Chilean Sea Bass (Nuang Pla) steamed with ginger and spring onion. If you’re looking for something that brings out the best of the festival, it’s got to be the Grilled Seafood Platter (Thalay Yang Yai) that include grilled lobster, tiger prawns and John Dory marinated with Thai flavours.
