Apple Pie Recipe
For the dough
all purpose flour
beaten with twoof water
For the filling
To make the dough
Combine the flour sugar and salt.
Knead in the butter until well combined.
Stir in the eff and whisk with a fork.
Add a little cold water if the dough is dry.
Knead the dough into a ball and roll into a disc.
Chill for an hour.
To make the pie
Peel, core and slice the apples into wedges.
Soak in lemon juice and stir in the sugar.
Melt the butter and add the apples.
Cook for two minutes and reduce the heat to medium low and cook for seven minutes.
Strain the apples, reserving the juice.
Cook the juice over medium heat for ten minutes, stirring occasionally.
Toss the apples with the juice and cool.
Cut the dough into half and roll into even discs.
Preheat an oven to 375 degrees F.
Line a pie pan with one of the discs of dough and trip until it falls slightly outside of the pan.
Add the apple filling and place the second dish over it.
Press the edges of the dough discs together to seal the pie.
Pierce the top of the dough and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
Bake for 50 minutes and take out of the oven.
Cool and serve.
Top with whipped cream if desired.
