Southwest Burger Recipe

Burgers are one of the best creations of mankind. The snack is the perfect amalgamation of meat (of veggies), sauces, greens, and bread. And the best part? This basic definition of a burger can be tweaked in thousands of ways to create a new kind of burger every time, with each being yummier than the last. (Ronald McDonald agrees!) One such brilliant take on the dish is the Southwest Burger.

As the name suggests, the Southwest Burger brings together the flavours of Southwestern America between the closed vicinity of two soft buns. So you can find a lot of Tex-Mex influences from Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, and other states in this region. Think of it as the best existing mash-up of a burrito and a burger. So if you’re a fan of Tex-Mex flavours, this burger is going to be your favorite for decades to come. Follow the instructions below to make some at home!

  2. Cover and grill the patties over medium heat for 5 minutes on each side or until a meat thermometer reads 160° and juices run clear.
  3. Top each patty with a cheese slice. Grill 1-2 minutes longer or until cheese begins to melt.
  4. Serve on buns with the lettuce, tomato, avocado and mayonnaise or mustard.
