Butternut Squash Soup
In season 2 of orange is the new black, Vee mentioned how she made Taystee butternut squash soup and a salad. That must have seemed like a feast fit for kings for prisoners, but we can bet it’ll taste pretty great even if you whip it up at home.

Ingredients
Instructions
  1. Sauté the onion celery, carrots, potatoes and squash in the butter for five minutes.
  2. Add the stock until it covers the vegetables. Stir, and allow to come to a boil.
  3. Reduce the heat to simmer and allow to cook for 40 minutes.
  4. Take off the stove and allow the soup to cool.
  5. Blend soup in a blender until smooth.
  6. Stir in the chicken stock until it’s a consistency you like.
  7. Serve and enjoy.
