An important side dish in Kerala sadhya, Olan is a traditional recipe cooked with ash gourd and black eyed peas in coconut milk.

Pressure cook the beans in the pressure cooker for at least 6-7 whistles. Strain the stock and keep aside the cooked beans.
Cook the ash gourd in 2 cups of water. Add green chillies and salt to it. Cook till the ash gourd becomes tender.
Add the cooked beans to the ash gourd and mix well. Now, add the coconut milk and curry leaves.
Cook on low flame for 5-7 mins. Remove from the fire and pour 1 tbsp of coconut oil on it.
