  1. In a large saucepan or small stockpot over medium-high heat, warm the oil. Add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, for 4 minutes.
  2. Add the celery, carrot, and garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are starting to soften, about 3 minutes.
  3. Add the broth, tomatoes, garbanzos, and beans and bring to a boil.
  4. Add the pasta and peas and cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables and pasta are tender, about 10 minutes.
  5. Stir in the oregano and salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
