Chutney With a Medley of Dals
This South Indian recipe yields a delicious chutney!

  1. Heat a tablespoon of the oil and roast the dals, chilies, pepper and hing until they turn brown.
  2. Cut the tamarind into pieces, switch off the stove and put the tamarind into the pan.
  3. Then, remove the tamarind and red chillies from the mix, add salt, ginger and water grind into a paste.
  4. Then add the other ingredients and grind further.
  5. Heat the remaining oil on a low flame and crackle the mustard seeds.
  6. Then fry the curry leaves.
  7. Stir in the ground paste for five minutes.
  8. Remove from the heat and serve!
