Roald Dahl’s books are filled with fantastical characters and lots and lots of food. When you think of Roald Dahl’s food scenes, Charlie and the Chocolate factory immediately comes to mind, as does The BFG, in which The BFG eats snozzcumbers and drinks frobscottle. There’s also a scene from Matilada, the story about a girl with telekinesis which particularly stuck with us.
Bruce Bogtrotter’s Chocolate Cake
You know the one we’re talking about? Bruce Bogtrotter steals a slice of cake that’s reserved for Miss Trunchbull. As punishment, Miss Trunchball makes him eat an entire chocolate cake in front of his classmates.
With a little trouble, he managed to polish it off to roaring applause from his friends.
We’re sharing a recipe for the dense chocolate cake from Roald Dahl’s Revolting Recipes. Enjoy as a dessert after lunch or dinner, but don’t finish it off in one sitting!
