Masala Biscuit Recipe (Hindi)

Cookies are an excellent way to snack with or without a beverage to wash them down with. And while cookies and biscuits may mostly be condiments of the Western Hemisphere, Indian bakeries and chai tapris (street side tea stalls) too have a spicy version of the baked goodie – masala biscuits.

Masala Biscuits are like your regular cookies and biscuits, only with the added zest of whole and ground spices that give the biscuit an added saltiness and flavor. These biscuits are best enjoyed with some piping hot chai or filter coffee. Follow the simple recipe below bake a batch of delicious masala biscuits at home!

Masala Biscuit Recipe
Sweet and salty cookies with Indian spices.
  1. एक कटोरे में सारी सामग्री मिलाकर अछी तरह गूंध लें। गूंधे हुए बिस्किट के आटे को फ़्रिज में २०-३० मिनट के लिए ठण्डा होने के लिए रख दें।
  2. अवन को १८० डिग्री सेलसियस पर गरम कर लें।
  3. बेकिंग ट्रे में बेकिंग शीट रखें।
  4. ठण्डे आटे को समतल सतह पर आटा या मैदा छिड़क कर बेलें और उसे २ मिलीमीटर पतला कर लें।
  5. बेले हुए आटे से मनचाहे आकार काटें और बेकिंग शीट पर रखकर अवन में लगभग २० मिनट के लिए बेक करें, जब तब बिस्किट अच्छी तरह करारे हो जांए।
  6. अवन से निकाल कर बिस्किट को ठण्डा होने दें। तुरंत परोसें या एयर-टाईट डब्बे में रख दें।
