  1. Let the rice soak in water for about half an hour.
  2. Add oil to the cooker and roast the whole spices in it for about a minute.
  3. To this add meat, onions, green chilli, ginger and garlic and stir.
  4. Once the meat turns browns add the powdered spices.
  5. Give it a good stir and add tomatoes.
  6. Cook for another five minutes and add soaked and rinsed rice.
  7. Without mixing add water, mint and coriander.
  8. Close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook on high for 5-6 minutes.
  9. Once the pressure is released open the cooker, give the biryani a stir and serve hot.
