Like Pinke Pie said a cherry changa is mashed up cherries in a tortilla that’s deep fried. Sounds like a delicious dessert, does it not? Here’s a recipe to make one; serve it as a dessert after a Mexican meal.

Instructions
  1. Set aside one cup of cherry pie filling.
  2. Chop the orange rind into small pieces and mix it with the remaining cherry pie filling.
  3. Spoon this mixture into the center of the tortillas.
  4. Sprinkle the almond slivers over the pie filing.
  5. Join the opposite sides of the tortillas and seal.
  6. Heat an inch of oil and deep fry the chimichangas until golden brown.
  7. Take out of the pan and place on paper towels to drain the excess oil.
  8. Sift the sugar on top of each chimichanga and serve.
