Khakhra Recipe (Hindi)

Gujarati snacks or farsan as they are collectively known, are often romanticized with crunch, spice, and heavy-duty nomenclature. But nonetheless, there is no craving a dhoklakhandvi or khakhra cannot satiate. So let’s try and make some starting with the crisp khakhra.

Khakhra is basically a salty, spiced and flatbread made of whole-wheat flour and gram flour. The rolled out flatbread is toasted over a slow flame and the final result is a snack that can be consumed immediately or over a period few days.

Instructions
  1. सारी सामग्री मिलाकर, बिना पानी डाले आटा गूंध लें।
  2. आटे के ४ बराबर हिस्से कर लें और चारो को लगभग ७ इंच के पतले गोलों में बेल लें।
  3. नौन स्टिक तवा गरम करके खाखरों को धीमी आँच पर कपड़े से दबाकर पकाँए जब तक खाखरा दोनो तरफ़ से अच्छी तरक पक कर करारा हो जाए।
  4. ठण्डा करके एयर टाइट डब्बे में रखें।
