Instructions
  1. Rinse pearl millet and put it in a pressure cooker
  2. Pour the water over the pearl millet, put the lid on the pressure cooker and cook on medium heat until it whistles three times
  3. After three whistles, remove the cooker from the stove
  4. Allow the steam to escape, open the cooker and place it back on the stove
  5. Cook the kambu on high heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens
  6. After it thickens, remove kambu from the stove and allow it to cool
  7. Once sufficiently cool, shape the kambu into small, two inch balls
  8. Immerse the balls in a bowl of water until the water is just covering the balls
  9. Leave bowl in the fridge overnight
  10. Then use a whisk to whisk the balls and water together
  11. Add the buttermilk and salt and whisk again
  12. Garnish with raw onions
  13. Serve!
Recipe Notes

You can leave the kambu in water in the fridge for 2-3 hours as well.
