This simple recipe yields kalmi vadas that are the perfect accompaniment to a cup of tea!

  1. Add the chana dal and the water to a mixer and blend until you get a coarse mixture.
  2. Pour the mixture into a bowl and stir in all the other ingredients.
  3. Divide the mixture into ten and shape each portion into a flat vadas
  4. Heat the oil in a deep pan
  5. Once the oil is hot, fry the vadas two at a time on a medium flame until they turn golden brown
  6. Serve hot!
