Gilmore Girls Pepperoni Pizza Recipe

After Netflix’s announcement that it would be hosting a Gilmore Girls revival this year the internet has gone crazy with speculations about character pairings and plot points. Who will Rory end up with? Who’s getting married?

We don’t have answers yet. But, what we do have is a recipe for a stellar pepperoni pizza for you to munch on while you speculate.

Pizza In The Gilmore Girls Universe

In the world of Gilmore Girls, pizza is always a solution. When Rory felt apprehensive about going to Yale, Lorelai brought pizza. For Lorelai’s birthday, Rory tries to commission the world’s largest pizza.

This recipe will yield a moderate sized pizza, but ticks off all the right boxes when it comes to taste.

Ingredients

• 1 tbsp dried yeast
• pinch Aof salt
• 140 ml warm water
• 180 grams strong flour
• 1 tbsp olive oil
• 1 tbsp dried basil
• Pepperoni slices
• 1 can chopped tomatoes
• 2 tbsp tomato purée
• grated mozzarella
• 1 onion chopped
• 2 cloves garlic thinly sliced

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees.
2. Combine the salt and yeast with the water.
3. Sift the flour into a deep bowl and make a well in the center.
4. Pour in the water and yeast mixture.
5. Add the oil.
6. Using a spatula, mix all the ingredients to create a moist dough.
7. Flour a flat surface and knead the dough for five minutes.
8. Place the dough in a bowl and cover.
9. Allow it to rest and rise for 20 minutes.
10. Knead into a pizza base in a pizza pan.
11. Make a few holes in the base with a fork.
12. Spread the puree over the base.
13. Add the tomatoes, onion and garlic over the top.
14. Sprinkle the cheese over the pizza.
15. Top with pepperoni and sprinkle the basil.
16. Bake for twenty minutes.
17. Take out of the oven, sere and enjoy!
