FRIENDS Monica’s Tiki Death Punch Recipe

Happy Friendship’s Day, foodies! To celebrate a day devoted to your friends, we thought we’d share a recipe from the ultimate friends – the FRIENDS. In FRIENDS, there are countless food scenes with Monica being at the center of most of them.

Monica’s Tiki Death Punch

Monica makes her infamous death punch in the first season of the Tv show; in episode four Monica, Rachel and Phoebe spy on Gerorge Stephanopolous across the road and get progressively drunker, helped along by the punch. When Rachel first walks into the apartment, fretting about what she’s doing in life Monica gives us a hint about what’s in the punch:

Monica: Hey, Rach. How would you like some Tiki Death Punch?

Rachel: What’s that?

Monica: Well, it’s rum, and…

Rachel: Okay. (Grabs the blender and drinks the punch)

If you plan on curling up with your girlfriends and binge watching FRIENDS this cocktail will be perfect. Or, serve it at a dinner party or with lunch – it’s always the right time for punch!

Ingredients

• 15 ml Gold Rum
• 15 ml dark rum
• 15 ml white rum
• 30 ml strawberry syrup
• 60 ml pineapple juice
• Juice of half a lime

Instructions

1. Combine all the ingredients and shake in a cocktail shaker.
2. Pour into a cocktail glass (or drink it from the shaker a la Rachel).
3. Garnish with a cherry and serve.
