Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them Apple Strudel Recipe

We spent a wonderful weekend at a dessert trail (more on that later) and watching Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them – a spin off from the Harry Potter series written and produced by JK Rowling herself.

Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find them focuses on Newt Scamander who arrives in New York in the 1920s carrying a case full of magical creatures. When some escape, chaos ensues. However, there’s something darker going on in the Big Apple’s wizarding community…

We’re not going to get into that here, just in case you haven’t seen the movie. Instead, we’re sharing an apple strudel recipe inspired by this clip:

Sadly, we’re still waiting on our Hogwarts letter so don’t have a wand to make a strudel like that. We’ll have to settle for making one the Muggle way. Serve this delicious strudel for dessert after lunch or dinner.

Instructions
  1. Preheat an oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Combine the apples with the sugar and raisins.
  4. Place the puff pastry on the baking sheet and arrange the apple filling down the middle of it.
  5. Seal the edges together.
  6. Whisk the egg and milk together.
  7. Lightly brush this mixture over the top of the pastry.
  8. Bake for 40 minutes.
  9. Take out off the oven.
  10. Sprinkle the powdered sugar over the strudel.
  11. Serve when warm.
