Although this drink is vodka based, it’s not actually a Russian drink (I know, I was flummoxed too). Actually, this drink is said to have been invented in Manhattan when a few guys were wondering how vodka would taste with Ginger Beer. As they say, the rest is history.

This cocktail is usually served in a kickass looking bronze mug. If you want to make the Kentucky Mule you just substitute the vodka with bourbon. Try out this easy Moscow Mule by Esquire and get your drink on.

  1. Squeeze lime juice into a Collins glass (or Moscow Mule mug) and drop in the spent shell.
  2. Add 2 or 3 ice cubes, then pour in the vodka and fill with cold ginger beer. And there you have it!
