  1. Wash and soak broken wheat and moong dal together for 30 mins. Chop tomatoes, grate ginger and set aside.
  2. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker, saute cumin until it sizzles, fry ginger until it turns fragrant.
  3. Add tomatoes, salt, turmeric. Cook until mushy. Add chili powder and saute for a minute. Can also add garam masala if you like.
  4. Add veggies and saute for 2 to 3 mins.
  5. Drain water completely from dal and broken wheat.
  6. Add to the pan and saute for 2 to 3 mins on a slightly high flame.
  7. Add 2 cups water. Check salt. Cook on a medium to low flame for 2 whistles.
  8. Stir well when the pressure goes off.
