Chili Mushroom Recipe

Chili paneer, chili chicken, or chili anything draws major inspiration from Chinese kitchen but the final result is something that can only be whipped up in India, under the desi chinese tab, which incorporates the best of Chinese flavours tossed in full desi elan. Chili mushroom is a fine example of this cuisine.

The delicious stir-fried preparation is a blend of bell peppers, soya sauce, chili sauce, ketchup, and veggies. Making the dish is super simple, as is gobbling it up in the blink of an eye along with piping hot fried rice and hakka noodles. Follow the recipe to a zesty chili mushroom below!

Instructions
  1. Rinse and wipe off mushrooms with a kitchen towel. Slice or halve or quarter them.
  2. Heat a wide skillet with oil on a high flame.
  3. Add garlic and sauté for a min to get a good aroma. Add mushrooms and chili and sauté for 2 minutes. Cover and cook until the mushrooms are half done.
  4. Now add the capsicum and spring onions, toss and fry till the capsicums are almost cooked but not soft. Make sure mushrooms are cooked through.
  5. Finally add the sauces to the skillet evenly. Add 2 tablespoons water and pepper powder. Toss and fry for another min or until the sauce thickens. Turn the stove off.
  6. Serve hot.
