Alice In Wonderland Queen Of Hearts Jam Tarts Recipe

on

Tim Burton’s much awaited sequel to ‘Alice In Wonderland‘, ‘Alice Through The Looking Glass’ will be released this summer. The trailer, which was released in late 2015 indicates that this movie will be filled with dark humour and will revolve around great threat to The Mad Hatter.

The trailer paints a picture of Wonderland saying “when the day becomes the night, and the sky becomes the sea, when the clock strikes heavy and there’s no time for tea…”

No time for tea?! A far cry from the original Alice In Wonderland, don’t you think? However, we’re excited to see what Tim Burton will do with the mystical universal that is Wonderland; we’re going to make ourselves some jam tarts and a cup of tea and speculate because -in our world – there’s always time for tea.

Queen Of Hearts Jam Tarts

In Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in wonderland, there’s an entire chapter called ‘Who Stole the Tarts’, in which the Queen of Hearts accuses the Knave of Hearts of stealing her jam tarts, presenting an older poem as evidence:

“The Queen of Hearts
She made some tarts,
All on a summer’s day;
The Knave of Hearts
He stole those tarts,
And took them clean away.
The King of Hearts
Called for the tarts,
And beat the knave full sore;
The Knave of Hearts
Brought back the tarts,
And vowed he’d steal no more.”

Carroll wanted this chapter to mock the British legal system. However, to take things on a lighter note – what about those tarts? Summer is here, a new Alice In Wonderland movie is approaching and we can see no better time for enjoying some delicious jam tarts. Give this recipe a try!
