RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan Becomes Amul’s Latest Muse

Recently Amul ran a print commercial featuring a caricature of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan sporting the iconic purple lipstick that the actress wore at Cannes. And now the company is back with yet another muse in its ad – Raghuram Rajan.

Subramaniam Swamy’s recent open-fire on Rajan, suggesting the latter should be sacked, has created quite a stir. A petition on change.org even urges PM Modi to appoint Rajan for a second term after it ends in September. With 44,000 signatures already garnered, RBI might just be under Raghuram Rajan’s wing for another 3 years.

Moving on to Amul, the co-operative has been popular for running topical adverts that feature current affairs with a pinch of pun and a twist of fun. This time it’s Raghuram Rajan, who’s standing next to the utterly butterly girl. The ad reads “Let Raghuramain!” revealing the co-operative’s loyal allegiance to the RBI Governor. Released on Tuesday, here’s what the ad looks like.

Amul’s allegiance towards Raghuram Rajan dates back to September 2013, when the latter took over as the RBI Governor. To commemorate the same, Amul had released the following ad.promising new RBI governor
