Raja Krishna Menon To Direct Hindi Remake Of ‘Chef’, Starring Saif Ali Khan

on

It’s official! Jon Favreau’s cubano starrer ‘Chef’ will see a Hindi adaptation with Saif Ali Khan in the lead. Don’t mean to boast, but we told you so!

Airlift director Raja Krishna Menon whose rapport with Akshay Kumar fueled the talks of replacing Saif with the former will direct the movie. “The makers of the film are planning on replacing Saif with Akshay, thanks to his working chemistry with Raja Krishna Menon that was evident in ‘Airlift.’ Besides this, Akshay is also a better fit for the role as compared to Saif, given that Akshay once was a cook in Bangkok,” a tabloid quoted.chandni-chowk-to-china-18v

But after much discussion, the Nawab managed to bag the role in the emotional comedy drama. And let’s just be honest for a moment, Carl Casper was a food-loving chilled out chef driving around a food truck through the States and Saif fits in like puzzle! No offence to the ‘Khiladi’ but Carl Casper needs to be anything but tall, lean and utterly disciplined.

As reported earlier, Abundantia Entertainment has bought Chef’s remake rights from Favreau’s Fairview Entertainment. The movie will go on floors this September and is currently in the scripting stage. Although we do now this that just like the Hollywood original, the Hindi rendition too will have the protagonist driving around a food truck in Indian cities with a rich food heritage. thequint-2015-11-79db161c-de3f-4470-8fe3-91260b41946e-Salaam-Namaste-(2005)

Meanwhile, Saif is working on refining his culinary nuances in the kitchen before starting the film. And we’re drooling all over again over the trailer. Join us if you please.
