But apart from sugary desserts, the actress also indulges in a fair share of healthy greens, her “favourite food” being asparagus. The Phobia actor took to social media to profess her love for the healthy green with a picture of fresh greens asparagus being seared in a pan. Radhika captioned the image with a simple “favourite food”. ‘Nuf said.
Asparagus, a.k.a. sparrowgrass, is a widely consumed spring vegetable that is high in vitamin, iron, dietary fiber, folic acid, potassium, phosphorus, calcium, and zinc content while being extremely low in fat content and calories. Young shoots of the green can be consumed in a number of ways – grilled, pan-seared, wok-tossed, roasted, et al – and along with a number of other sides and mains.
A naturally bitter – very slightly – albeit highly nutritious food, asparagus is great for accelerating weight loss, detoxing the body, curing hangovers, and in general boosting your mood. And yes, consuming this vegetable may make your urine smell a little, well, different. But hey, the pros outweigh the single tiny con.
