Pune-Based Meat Delivery Startup EasyMeat Acquires Nonveggies

Pune-based meat delivery startup, EasyMeat.in, is in the process of closing an acquisition deal on meat delivery brand Nonveggies. The details of the amount have not been disclosed at this time.

The Economic Times, which reported the acquisition, said that the deal with provide EasyMeat access to the Nonveggies customer base, helping them expand their market within Pune. Co-founder of EasyMeat, Shiva Saran said, “The Nonveggies team is located in the western part of Pune which is not close to our warehouse that is located in central Pune, through this acquisition we are better able to cover the entire city and get access to their customer base.”

EasyMeat.in is a service that provides customers in Pune with fresh meat, hygienically cut and cleaned and delivered right to their door step. They have the usual list of meats, as well as exotic meats like lobster and crab, fresh seafood, marinated meats and also have Shan masalas and Venky’s frozen meats.

While Nonveggies was launched in December 2014, provide meat to the same market and also has a large list of meats to choose from on their menu. Their large and strong customer base in Western Pune will now be accessible to EasyMeat, thanks to this acquisition.  “We get around 1,000 orders a month in western Pune, we also have an additional 300-400 unregistered users and have tied up with 12 to 15 vendors for the three meat categories we offer,” said Gaurav Saxena, cofounder of Nonveggies.

According to EasyMeat.in, they have a monthly growth of 30% and received 45 orders on a daily basis in July alone. Through this acquisition, they hope to reach at least 100 orders a day by September. The largest amount of traction is for their poultry products, then followed by seafood and mutton and have tied up with nine different supplies and are targeting the B2B segment through partnerships with restaurants.
