Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s Wedding Cake Is Going To Taste Like Spring

on

So, as per previous speculations, Prince Harry and former American actress Meghan Markle were going to serve a banana-flavored cake at their wedding. However, according to a recent announcement by the couple, their wedding reception will see an exotic lemon elderflower cake, and here’s all that you need to know about it.

The couple has chosen pastry chef, Claire Ptak, to craft their wedding cake. Notably, a while back, Markle had interviewed Ptak, who owns a popular bakery in London called Violet Bakery, for the former’s lifestyle and food blog, The Tig. Kensington Palace issued a statement online to announce Harry and Meghan’s decision earlier this week on Tuesday.

Harry and Meghan have asked Ptak “to create a lemon elderflower cake that will incorporate the bright flavors of spring,” the statement from Kensington Palace read. “It will be covered with buttercream and decorated with fresh flowers.”

Speaking of being picked for the prestigious role, Ptak said, “I can’t tell you how delighted am to be chosen to make Prince Harry and Ms. Markle’s wedding cake. Knowing that they really share the same values as I do about food provenance, sustainability, seasonality, and most importantly flavor makes this the most exciting event to be a part of.”

The couple will be serving the exotic cake with guests at their wedding, which is going to take place on 19th May 2018 at the St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in London.
