Pizza Hut Outlet In Florida Makes Evacuation Rules That Caused An Outrage On Twitter

on

A Pizza Hut outlet located in Florida made a list of evacuation rules for its employees considering the approaching hurricane Irma. The Jacksonville store put up a notice dictating guidelines on how, when to evacuate and when to re-join post the evacuation.

The Twitter found the demands ridiculous some of which included the store staying open between six to 12 hours before the storm. The employees who hadn’t applied for an off for evacuation that day were supposed to show up or else there would be a no call/no documentation would be issued against them.

Adding on, the employees were to return 72 hours after the evacuation which led to the following outcry on Twitter.

Following the rage, Pizza Hut apologized through a statement that said, “We are uncompromising in our commitment to the safety and well-being of our team members. All locations in the path of Irma are closed and will remain closed until local authorities deem the area safe. We absolutely do not have a policy that dictates when team members can leave or return from a disaster, and the manager who posted this letter did not follow company guidelines. We can also confirm that the local franchise operator has addressed this situation with the manager involved.”
