‘Partiko’ Lets Delhi Folk Stay Updated With All That’s Happening In The Capital

on

Never miss another food festival or alcohol-loaded experience in Delhi again, thanks to the Partiko app, which lets users discover events like Nightlife, Music, Food, Drink, Wine, Concerts, Experiences, Sports, Travel, and Startup. Currently based in Delhi, the app plans to move into other major cities like Bangalore and Mumbai.

Kicked off by IIT Roorkee graduate Amanjot Malhotra, who after getting his degree in 2013 had his fair share of work experience at a number of tech-start ups, Partiko is available for download on Android and will soon be up on the iOS App Store as well.

App Features

The area-based app works on the basis of your location, which you can set in order to get updates for on-going and upcoming events only from places around you. Moreover, you can use the app to look up trending events for the coming weekend, weekdays or any major holidays in advance.

In addition to providing location-specific results, Partiko allows users to keep their feeds personalized and see only what interests them. Partiko filters the updates based on the tags and interests provided by the user. To boost their presence, the app has teamed up with other popular social media players, which allow the users to share their posts on other platforms.

Social Media Accolades

Currently bootstrapped, Partiko is discussing funding with investors to raise a seed round in the next 3 months. The funds will be directed towards app development, hiring, merchant acquisition, and marketing purposes. The start-up was launched with a web platform in August under the FbStart program, which will also provide the set-up with services and credits worth $40,000.

The said services will include expert supervision from Menlo Park-headquartered Facebook’s engineering teams and services from its partners like Amazon Web Services, Annie, Dropbox, Adobe and MailChimp.

And if that doesn’t have you in awe of the young entrepreneurs, hear this: Partiko has been a finalist for the PayTM 1 Crore challenge this year and is currently working on a sponsorship marketplace EventsCrunch, which will be launched in the first quarter of 2017, reports Business Insider.

Partiko Reach

The app currently hosts 15,000 users, the platform is planning to go social and engage more users. As of now, it is looking towards focusing on MUNs, startup, colleges, and music events alongside expanding in other major cities in India.

The Partiko team says – “First of all FbStart program helped us curb down on our server billings which have sky-rocketed without even marketing the platform, also it will be an added boost and receiving mentorship from the pioneer of social networking will be a huge opportunity as we too are focusing on the similar segment in the longer run.”

Partiko is prepared for head-on competition from other established players like Bookmyshow, explara and meraevents, with the founders firm in the belief that their product will be able to offer much more in the coming months and also there is always room for development.
