Just when you thought it was easy to order your coffee every morning and the routine of standing in line had just become totally normal to you, Starbucks has changed that completely. And don’t even lie and say that it isn’t the best thing to happen to you yet.
Starbucks has launched voice ordering for iOS and through Amazon’s digital assistant Alexa.
What happens is that when you’re placing your order via the My Starbucks app, users can now speak their full order instead of selecting it on-screen. So while you’re driving to Starbucks on your way to work, just start ordering and let the app take care of the rest. Thanks to artificial intelligence, the app will take any kind of order no matter how complicated it is. The feature is currently in beta and only available to 1,000 customers nationwide and the rest of the US will get it by the summer. Android users, don’t worry, the feature is coming soon for you too!
Through Alexa, users can just say “Alexa, order my Starbucks” to place the ‘usual’ order. However, Alexa can’t tack on additional items, so keep it simple.
