Oprah’s New Range Of Comfort Foods Comes With A Unique Twist

on

Oprah Winfrey is no stranger to the food and beverage industry. Having invested in a cookbook and a beverage label in the past, the media mogul has well established her presence in the arena. To make her foothold stronger, the media mogul recently launched her line of heat-and-eat comfort food that comes with a healthy twist. Literally.

Christened ‘O, That’s Good!’, the range has been launched in collaboration with Kraft Heinz and features a bunch of heart yet healthy comfort food options like pasta and mashed potatoes. The complete boasts of four refrigerated side dishes and four refrigerated soups—all with a nutritious “twist.”

Basically, it’s the regular recipe but with an added healthy ingredient that completely changes the game! The line consists of an Original Mashed Potatoes and Garlic Mashed Potatoes both of which come with added mashed cauliflower; a creamy Three Cheese Pasta that packs added butternut squash; another Creamy Parmesan Pasta fortified with added white beans; a Broccoli Cheddar Soup amped up with added butternut squash; Creamy Tomato Basil Soup with added celery and carrots; a Baked Potato Soup featuring added cauliflower; and Creamy Butternut Squash Soup with some added pureed sweet potatoes and carrots.

“The twist on the cauliflower mashed potatoes, which is really what sparked this whole thing, is me sitting at the table in my own house and whipping up some cauliflowers,” Winfrey told People in an interview. “And I was thinking, gosh, this really isn’t mashed potatoes. But what if you actually used only a portion of the mashed potatoes and added the cauliflower? Then you would have a substantive potato-cauli dish. I’ve eaten more cauliflower and potatoes then you can imagine trying to get the exact right summation of cauliflower to potatoes. I think we did it.”

Needless to say, it’s a unique concept and we’d love to trick ourselves into eating something healthy for a change. Moreover, Oprah’s health food range one ups the nutritious food options available in the market for people who can’t – or don’t want to – spend a fortune on healthy eating. The soups will be available at supermarkets for USD 4.99 each, while the sides will retail for USD 4.49 each.
