Olivia Munn’s 20-80 Secret To Becoming An X-Men Mutant

on

If there is one thing the onscreen X-Men mutants have taught us, it’s that to be one you’ve to really get into the gym grind. First it was Jennifer Lawrence and now it’s the gorgeous mutant with the lilac streaked hair and dapper-chic leotard, Psylocke a.k.a. Olivia Munn who unveils her superhero diet for X-Men Apocalypse.

Her Own Hero

In order to pack that set of fighter muscle, Munn signed herself up for routine workouts, which included training in sword fighting and martial arts. These also enabled her to do her own stunts, no matter how challenging they were. Yep, she’d done it all from doing crazy flips mid-air to spinning around like a hurricane!

“My intention was to just get as fit and as healthy as I could be, for myself,” the actress said in an interview.aa6e6be4919aaaf6bc5c8da4a3f73d0b

The 20-80 Diet

Needless to say, these heavyduty training sessions were teamed with a super nutritional diet. Munn stuck to eating mostly foods that could be found at a farmer’s market. “I also started getting into eating 20-80, where 80 percent of your diet is fruits and vegetables and 20 percent is whatever.” Which explains how the actress managed to shed 12 pounds by the time X-Men wrapped!

Rigorous as it is, the 20-80 diet is a favorite among other stars like Tom Brady and wife Gisele Bündchen. Though, unlike Munn who was on this diet only during the movie, Brady and Bündchen follow it on a regular basis.

During her 20-80 stint, Munn cut back massively on meats, making seeds and nuts her major source of protein. That said, the Magic Mike actress did dish out some hot and cheesy mac n’ cheese right from the pan as a glass of wine gladly washed it down.

It is almost inspiring how Munn managed to prep herself and pull of the action-packed role in a given time. Having said that, let’s just keep in mind the fact that Munn’s workout and diet were strictly restricted to a defined time period.
