Nicki Minaj Trolled Her Fans With A Faux Fruit Album Release

Turns out dropping major info bombs on your fans like it’s no big deal has become common trend among the stars. First it was Beyoncé with here explosive Lemonade that came out of nowhere, and now its pop icon Nicki Minaj who has got our Twitter feed in absolute shock. Yes, the singer announced the release of her new album. And the album drops at midnight! Or was supposed to at least.

After bantering with fans who were begging her to release scrapped tracks from The Pinkprint, her last studio album, Minaj teased that a whole new record would come out at midnight, reports Mashable.

The album titled ‘Pick My Fruit Out’ even had the songs on it named after various fruits. Minaj was kind enough to give us peak into the “tracklist” as well. And yes, it totally looked like a fruit salad ingredient list. With a ‘Harambe Interlude’ that hits us right in the feels.

The singer “leaked” a few of her favourite songs from the album, which included the likes of ‘Pears ft. Rick Ross’ and ‘Nigga Toss My Fruit Salad’. Wait, what?!

And that’s why we were a bit iffy about whether to believe Minaj’s new or not, and it was not just us. A lot of people were wondering whether Minaj was pranking us because she just released a new track last month! Also, the ‘Harambe Interlude’. A little too much to take in, don’t you think?

As much as we wanted it to be true, turns out it was a joke. Minaj finally gave up trolling thousands on Twitter and revealed that she won’t be picking her fruit out anytime soon. And we are as disappointed as we are impressed with the musicians fruity sense of humor!
