Nara Collaborates With The Swadesh Foundation For Songkran

on

Taking forward a tradition of working with a cause, the restaurant Nara has for the second time collaborated with the Swadesh Foundation for Songkran. During this Thai festival, water has a lot of significance. Combining tradition and responsibility, the restaurant has provided clean water to 23 households for the entire year as well as made available facilities for harvesting rainwater.

Food For A Cause

Speaking on the occasion, Karyna Bajaj, Executive Director of Ka Hospitality said, “With such occasions we are hopeful to add value and do our bit for the society while also celebrating simultaneously. Our association with the Swades Foundation has been a long standing one and we are thankful to them for diligently scouting affected areas of need and providing them with necessities.”

The customers coming in to Nara during Songkran can also contribute in this cause by simply indulging in the specials being served during the festivities. Enjoy their Butterfly Ice Tea, or a special dessert, Sakoo Piek made with coconut ice cream, on a bed of fresh sago pearls and water chestnuts garnished with coconut sauce and shreds. The proceeds earned from your meal will be donated by Nara to the Swades Foundation towards water and sanitation.

“It is thoughtful of Nara to donate their proceeds from the Songkran festival to the Swades Foundation second year in a row,” commented Zarina Screwvala, Co-founder at the Swades Foundation. “Last year their contribution helped us in providing access to drinking water in 23 rural households and this year they are supporting one school with complete water and sanitation infrastructure in our rural geography. It is always a pleasure to have continued support from believers like Nara towards Rural Empowerment.”
